the maghreban has been making dusty house music for a couple of years now and has put a few records out on his own imprint zoot and also on versatile records. some people have liked this. the maghreban found a bunch of old cassette tapes at his dads house. one said ‘alex july 84′,,, on it. this tape was from alexandria, egypt in the summer of 1984. it had some interesting music recorded on it. the maghreban sampled a few of the tracks to make this one.

den “nightcrawler”-soundtrack gibt es in zwei deluxe-lp-editionen. diese version gleicht der ausstattung von 39138151, jedoch ist das vinyl in streetlight yellow gefärbt (downloadcode inklusive). das cover hingegen ist völlig anders gestaltet. der illustrator ben holmes hat in zusammenarbeit mit schauspieler jake gyllenhaal eine neue interpretation des covers gestaltet. james newton howard gehört inzwischen zu den bekanntesten soundtrack-komponisten hollywoods. seine scores für “the dark knight” und “batman begins” (beide gemeinsam mit hans zimmer) genießen kult-status, er hat aber auch so unterschiedliche filme wie “pretty woman” und “the hunger games” vertont. ursprünglich war er session-musiker und verdiente seinen unterhalt als tour-keyboarder von elton john, bis er mit dem soundtrack zu “the sixth sense” eine eigenständige karriere realisierte.

killer deep spaced out electro tracks!!! over 20 years ago shad t. scott and his pal seven set up isophlux records, miamis infamous first electronic imprint releasing, as they put techno, electro, funk, experimental, and anything good. now in year 2016, shad under his gosub alias releases this sunday at battle ship key titled ep for barba records, staying true to that initial principle. its far away from just being good though, its beautiful and warm electronic music at its best, oozing chill and feel good moods. original two tracks are accompanied with a remix by second time appearing on barba - jtc aka tadd mullinix who this time nicely surprised us with his ol school ny style house beauty. overall one fine classic record this, period.

with a passion for disco, italo, chicago house and detroit techno patrizio cavaliere aka rocco universal has been collecting music for the last two decades and it’s these musical influences that have shaped his raw, tripped out disco/house production sound. ‘tiny islands’, his debut release for leng, is a real melting pot of rich melodies over a thick baseline and is a clear example of rocco’s passion for the dancefloor. with something as multi layered and deep as the original track it needed ray mang to add his trademark sound to the remix. here he goes straight for the jugular drawing out some of the loops and percussion leaving no mistake as to when this should be dropped on the dancefloor.
curitiba-based aia records returns with it s second release. lucas and marcelo also known as doneck, started to join forces back in early-2013. musically influenced by international recognised artists such as san soda, andré,,s and move d, the duo also found significance in the sounds of aia s own label heads aninha & antonela antonela giampietro. therefore, creating a mixture of three soulful, deep but endlessly sounding tracks seems very convincing and credible to the overall ethos of the imprint. with assaz the duo delivers a deep but soulful house number, whereas ocluso is deep house at it s best, with a light atmospheric vibe and the echoing vocal. last but not least, tê,,nue creates this feeling of weightlessness and ease with warm natural added sounds and it s groovy bassline.
